I’m not from the Nordics. I’ve been visiting them long enough that the obvious places stopped surprising me, which is when the actually-interesting parts started showing up. Some of those parts are written down here.
The rules I write by
- One traveller’s view. Not a couple, not a collective, not a “we will find” voice.
- Practical first. Specific train numbers, opening hours, real prices in local currency.
- Opinionated. If a tour is overpriced or a museum is dull, I’ll say so.
- Image-led. Every article carries at least twenty photographs, captioned with something the photo doesn’t say on its own.
- World-class or unpublished. Articles that don’t clear the bar go back. The site only carries pieces I’d actually send to a friend.
What this site is not
This is not the Nordic Travel Bloggers Collective. The Collective was a network of professional Scandinavian bloggers founded around 2014. They’ve moved on, and you can find them at nordictb.com. This domain is now its own thing: an independent travel blog about Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, written by one frequent visitor.
If you have a question, a correction, or something to share, the contact page has a form.
